What is the Haitian Diaspora Million Dollar Challenge?
The HDMDC is a fund created by Color of Hope Inc on behalf of the Haitian Diaspora to improve its effectiveness in helping Haiti. The program seeks to raise a million dollars.

Who is behind the Haitian Diaspora Million Dollar Challenge?
The Haitian Diaspora Million Dollar Challenge is a people movement, i.e The Haitian
Diaspora and friends of Haiti. Color of Hope Inc is simply the managing organization for the challenge. Any and every organization is encouraged to join in and help the Haitian Diaspora meet this challenge.

What is Color of Hope?
Color of Hope is a grassroots, community based organization that strives to strengthen Haiti, Haitian Americans and the Haitian Immigrant community.

What will the money be used for?
The money will be used to build community centers (Community and Family Empowerment Centers) designed as model of instruction, training, support and collaboration for the Haitian community and the Diaspora. These centers will also serve as shelters in case of any disasters. More details about the Community & Family Empowerment Center here

Who gets the money and who is in charge of the fund?
in short the Haitian people will get the money. The fund will be managed by a board of trustees composed of approximately 11 to 13 Representatives from various countries/states such as Canada, France,Florida, NY, Chicago, MA, California, New Jersey and so on, with veto power from the people (Haitian Diaspora) represented by Color of Hope Inc...

What happens to the fund after January 12, 2012?
Construction on our centers will start. The challenge fund will be transitioned into a
permanent fund, money from the fund will be used to maintain the Diaspora's commitment in Haiti and in case of a disaster.

Should I only give a dollar?
It is said you should never answer a question by asking another but allow us to do it
this time. A dollar is all that is required of you but How much do you love Haiti?

How much of my donation actually goes to the Haitian Diaspora Million Dollar Challenge Fund?
100 percent of donations to the Haitian Diaspora Million Dollar Challenge go directly to the fund with exception to donations through paypal which incur a transaction fee from paypal – There is no administrative costs from your direct contribution to the Challenge Fund

How can I help or volunteer?
Many opportunities exist in your own community to help us meet this challenge
and make Haiti a better place. Contact one of our representatives in your
area or call 561-312-3748 and ask if you can help raise funds by visiting schools,
businesses and other community stakeholders. Better yet, get your family
and friends together to organize fundraisers that will benefit the challenge.
